This course meets the job performance requirements outlined in NFPA 1521, Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer Professional Qualifications, Chapter 5, Incident Safety Officer. The course is intended for the individual within a fire department or emergency service organization who performs the functions of an Incident Safety Officer or who serves as an assistant to the Incident Safety Officer.
Those individuals who successfully complete all course requirements and applicable skills tests will be eligible to test for Texas Commission on Fire Protection and/or State Firefighter's & Fire Marshal's Association Incident Safety Officer Certification.
