
This course meets the job performance requirements outlined in NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications, 2019 edition, effective January 1, 2021 and addresses NFPA 1041 Chapter 4.
This course introduces the student to the concepts and skills needed to function as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I. The topics include the instructor as a professional, principles of learning, instructional planning, materials and equipment, the learning environment, classroom instruction, student interaction, skills-based training, testing & evaluation, and records, reports & scheduling.
Those individuals who successfully complete all course requirements and applicable skills test will be eligible to test for Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification.
