This course meets the job performance requirements outlined in NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications, Chapter 5, Instructor III. The course is designed for the Fire Service Instructor who, in addition, to meeting Instructor I qualifications, wants to develop the knowledge and ability to develop individual lesson plans for a specific topic including learning objectives, instructional aids, and evaluation instruments; schedule training sessions based on overall training plan of the authority having jurisdiction, and supervise and coordinate the activities of other instructors.
Those individuals who successfully complete all course requirements and applicable skills test will be eligible to test for Texas Commission on Fire Protection and/or State Firefighter's & Fire Marshal's Association Certification.
